Michel gave him a curious look. It had sounded like an admission that Terry intended to go on having sex with men behind his wife’s back.

“You boys okay over there?” Darlene called suddenly. “Your food should be ready in a minute or two. You need any more coffee?”

“We’re fine for the moment, thanks,” Michel called back.

“Okay, just let me know if you need anything,” Darlene replied, then walked into the kitchen.

Michel looked back at Terry. He was sitting rigidly upright, his eyes nervously fixed on the door.

“What’s wrong?” Michel asked.

“It’s him,” Terry whispered back, barely moving his lips.

“Donny?”
